Femme for DKNY Jeans by Hilary Duff

Jul31

Unlike a lot of folks, I don't hate on Hilary Duff. In fact, out of all of the celebs I witnessed pre-catwalk prepping at the Red Dress Heart Truth Show during NYFW Fall 2009, I was most excited to see Hilary.

So, it goes without saying, that I'm actually kind of looking forwarded to the release of her collection for DKNY Jeans called Femme.

The pieces of this collection, which will be released in August, will range from $39 to $129. Just in time for Back-to-School shoppers, and Duff's small screen debut as Olivia Burke on CW's Gossip Girl.

It was a star-studded event, as everything was painted red at the Red Dress Heart Truth show.

With Tim Gunn opening up with a welcome message for the show, day two of NYFW was off to a great start. And as the dashing Mr. Gunn said, the show was their "Valentine" to all in attendance. It actually felt as such.

Red Dress paired 20 celebrities with designers, and donned one-of-kind red gowns. The pairings were:

Amanda Bynes / Daniel Swarovski
Jennie Garth / Badgley Mischka
Tori Spelling / Betsey Johnson
Vivica A. Fox / Jenny Packham
Lynda Carter / Carolina Herrera
Daisy Fuentes / Pamella Roland
Kristi Yamaguchi / Vera Wang
Natasha Henstridge / Verrier
Nia Long / Tracy Reese
Brittany Snow / Marchesa
Nastia Liukin / Max Azria
Valerie Bertinelli / Christian Siriano
Amanda Beard / Cushnie et Ochs
Patricia Arquette / Nicole Miller
Samantha Harris / David Meister
Cicely Tyson / B. Michael
Jane Kaczmarek / Michael Kors
Susan Lucci / Gustavo Cadile
Hilary Duff / Donna Karan
Katie Couric / Carmen Marc Valvo

It was truly a fabulous show. Check out the gallery:

Backstage at Red Dress Heart Truth: NYFW Fall 2009

The backstage area where stars were being prepped for the Red Dress Heart Truth show was all abuzz. You could tell there was something different about this show. And I got to witness it all.

The celebrities who were to walk in the show were bubbly, and excited to be able to don the red gowns designers had chosen for them.

While some stars opted to have their hair and makeup done in their hotel rooms, while the rest headed backstage to the show where stylists were armed with blowdryers, Bobbi Brown makeup artists were touching up faces, and camera crews were surrounding the whole spectacle.

It was quite a scene, and I loved every minute of it!
