It wasn't long ago that I traipsed across the beautiful floors of the Rachel | Rachel Roy showroom in ecstatic anticipation of the diffusion line's release. And now, that day has finally arrived!
The collection boasts fun, energetic prints and offers young women a chic and sophisticated edge--and at a very affordable price point, might I add! (The line will retail from $59 to $299 for sportswear, $79 to $199 for footwear, $40 - $195 for jewelry and $69 to $109 for handbags.)

The news of the Rachel | Rachel Roy Pop Up Store's Sept. 9 opening ran in WWD, and outlines the exciting details:
- The 1,800-square-foot store will sell the entire Rachel Rachel Roy line
- The opening is timed around the beginning of Fashion Week and Fashion’s Night Out, and will remain open for 10 days, or while supplies last
- Pop sensation, Estelle will be hosting opening night
- Graffiti artist, SEN One will be creating custom pieces for customer purchase
- A graffiti covered ice cream truck parked outside will be handing out free ice cream
- A percentage of all sales will benefit Roy’s favorite charity, New Yorkers for Children
Best of all, Rachel Roy plans to visit the store regularly to give customers the total Rachel Rachel Roy experience: “Having your own store is the only medium through which you get to tell your story to the customer in its complete essence.”

In case you missed the @Rachel_Roy Twitter press conference today, I'll let you in a little secret: it was incredible! (Go to Twitter.com/Rachel_Roy or just do a Twitter search to get caught up!) More designers definitely need to take a cue from that stunning, creative force!
There were so many amazing questions, and I feel as though she answered them brilliantly. One of my favorite quotes of the press conference was when Rachel was asked about her biggest influences. Her response was inspiring: "My biggest influences are strong creative women that chart their own path, lead their own lives and drive the course of history."

I'm beginning to feel very encouraged these days when big name designers embrace social media, especially in the name of Twitter. When I learned that Rachel Roy, has started Tweeting as well, I couldn't click the "Follow" button fast enough.

And now, she is giving her @Rachel_Roy Twitter followers the opportunity to get to know her behind-the-scenes.
