When you think of Avon, your initial thought might be the latest in greatest in beauty products sold at a fantastic price point. As I discovered at the Avon Beauty Plus Market Day event last week, Avon provides shoppers with so much more!
The summer collection of Beauty Plus, the fashion and accessories line of products at Avon, is rife with brightly colored sandals and jewelry at prices that won't break the bank.
While 80's punk bands helped to popularize the trend of adding studs to clothing and accessories, it's the fall 2009 runway that has aided in resurrecting it. Designers like Balmain, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs have given voice to the resurgence of studded garments, inspiring mainstream stores to open their doors to the stud-loving public with a rebel yell.
And while some studded accessories carried by some stars (a la Mary-Kate Olsen) might be a bit out of your budget, or cause people to think you're a bit out of your mind, there are some more cost-efficient, and slightly more feminine alternatives. (Don't worry: you'll still feel like a modern day Joan Jett.)
Lady Gaga has been wowing both the fashionistas and fashion police alike since she first stepped onto the scene. Known for donning outlandish and sometimes microscopic attire, the native New Yorker proves she definitely has an eye for style.
Her signature dyed-blonde hair with straight-cut bangs is its own accessory. Her outfits do most of the talking for her.
Though as jaw dropping as her ensembles might be, it is entirely possible to get a Lady Gaga-inspired look by remembering it's all about colors, patterns, and statement pieces.
