L.A.M.B. Spring 2010

Sep12

The L.A.M.B. runway was an eclectic mix of bold prints, crazy colors, and a juxtaposition of pretty and punk. The looks were edgy and altogether youthful.

There were some looks that kept me guessing, but many of the pieces just took my breath away. (Such as the darling white lace tights below that I must have right now! As Sarah from Style IT would say, "I need them in my life!")

All in all, I've always been a big proponent of L.A.M.B. and if this season was so much fun, I'm so excited to see what happens next season!

BCBG Max Azria NYFW Spring 2010

Sep11

The kickoff day to Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week was a flutter of excitement as BCBG Max Azria presented another successful runway show.

The latest collection, a youthful line celebrating colors and angles, provided a refreshing retreat from the post-summer blues.

Using asymmetrical angles, vibrant hues, and color blocking patterns, BCBG makes this girl desire seeing these looks transcend from the runway to her closet!

All-New NARS Fall 2009 Collection

Jul18

Fall’s runways were dominated by two words: bold and feminine. Strong shouldered and form-hugging silhouettes, extreme heels and provocative thigh-high boots, and a color palette of classic hues turned up a notch to Technicolor volumes. These trends also illustrate the NARS Fall collection.

“For this collection, I wanted to create something fragile and strong, and seductive but not aggressive,” said François Nars, Founder and Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics. The combination of strength and refinement has become a hallmark of NARS, and is particularly fitting this season as the brand celebrates its 15th anniversary.

NARS Fast Ride Lipstick - $24

NARS Tokaido Express - $16

NARS Silk Road Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Brumes Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Indian Summer Duo Eyeshadow- $32

NARS Mekong Single Eyeshadow- $22

Tell Me About it, Stud!

Mar25

While 80's punk bands helped to popularize the trend of adding studs to clothing and accessories, it's the fall 2009 runway that has aided in resurrecting it. Designers like Balmain, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs have given voice to the resurgence of studded garments, inspiring mainstream stores to open their doors to the stud-loving public with a rebel yell.

And while some studded accessories carried by some stars (a la Mary-Kate Olsen) might be a bit out of your budget, or cause people to think you're a bit out of your mind, there are some more cost-efficient, and slightly more feminine alternatives. (Don't worry: you'll still feel like a modern day Joan Jett.)

Alexander McQueen for Target, $20

Revolve, $91

Heritage 1981, $33

Journeys, $50

TopShop.com, about $82

Halston Fall 2009 Video Presentation

Feb14

Forget the catwalk; we're going digital, baby!

Each fashion week, many designers strike for innovation, for a memorable show. This year, Halston's presentation is no exception to the rule.

Rather than create and plan a traditional fashion runway, Halston opted for a presentation in the digital arena. That's right, utilizing viral marketing strategies, Halston's fashion week is in the form of a video. The feeling is that of a more intimate arena for viewing the collection.

This is great for those who were unable to attend NYFW this year. Check out the video below, and let me know your thoughts on his presentation:
