T-Mobile Sidekick LX Party at the Sidekick Social Club

Apr24

On Tuesday, I was lucky enough to be invited to a fabulous party for the new T-Mobile Sidekick LX at the Sidekick Social Club. (Just FYI - The new Sidekick looks amazing! It even has built in social networking!)

Aside from the great atmosphere and delicious spread, one of the highlights was chatting it up with some of my favorite fashion bloggers: Wendy of Nitro:licious, Dina of Eye4Style, Sarah of StyleIT, Jordana of Clutch 22, Caroline of The Daily Obsession, and Julia of Fashion Pulse Daily.

Check out this video that Wendy posted on Nitro:licious, featuring yours truly, among many others! -

Lorick: NYFW Fall 2009

Feb14

Sarah, from Style It, and I headed to Lorick, which I learned is the line used for Eleanor Waldorf's line on Gossip GirlNaturally, I thought I'd see cast members, in addition to a fabulous collection. FYI, I only spotted Amanda Setton who has a recurring role as Penelope.

The show itself was fun to watch, mostly because of the live accordion music. Sarah and I stood right by the speakers so we heard it loud and clear. We also had a killer location...right near the top of the runway!

The collection on the other hand was average. The colors were lovely, though better suited for a spring line.

Don't let me spoil it for you. Check out the collection for yourself:

Hello Kitty Commotion: MAC and Hello Kitty Cocktail Soiree

Feb09

On February 5, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the MAC and Hello Kitty Cocktail Soiree. (Thanks, Sarah Conley.)

The event was a couture celebration of the collaboration between the Hello Kitty geniuses and MAC, a wonderful cosmetics collection that will be available on February 10! 30 designers, like genius Zac Posen and Catherine Malandrino, created one-of-a-kind couture pieces, inspired by a one Ms. Kitty, that were gloriously on display at Cedar Lake.

It was a big deal. The who's who was there. Well, that's not true. There were some big names (Ciara and Lindsay Price) along with some D-list celebrities (Jay from The City, anyone?) in attendance. At any rate, it was exciting. And why? Was it because of the chocolate bow-shaped cookies or the shirtless men with Hello Kitty heads holding them? No. Nor was it because of the handsome cocktail waiters boasting trays of hard pink lemonade or champagne. And, even though the gift bags with free Hello Kitty for MAC makeup was nice, that still wasn't the highlight.

Simply stated, the allure, the magic behind this evening, was the fashion.

Unfortunately, my only available camera option was my iPhone sans flash. But, go ahead and check out the photos in my gallery (below) anyway.

I'll be uploading the rest (better quality photos) ASAP, once I am again, equipped with Internet access.

If any of these fashions catches your eye, have no fear! You too can own a piece of Hello Kitty couture. On February 9, head to www.ebay.com/machellokitty, to bid on a piece of HK history. Proceeds will benefit the Museum Acquisition Fund at FIT.

All in all, a lovely New York evening.
