Last week, Nine West introduced their latest collection, Vintage America, which is an all-American array of shoes and accessories inspired by the Heartland. Sold separately from the mainstream Nine West line, Vintage America features pieces with a casual, worn-in feel, from plaid shirts and cropped sweaters to distressed jeans and cowboy boots.
And now, Nine West, accompanied by singer Miranda Lee Richards, are calling all budding singer/songwriters for the Vintage America Voices Contest.
Weekly winners will be selected through September 1, and a panel of judges will select seven finalists, and a winner. The panel includes Richards; Nine West Creative Director, Fred Allard; Lucky Magazine’s Merchandising director, Rebecca Babcock, and Danny Strick, co-president of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. The winner will be given the chance to record and release a single through Hickory Records, a division of Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
I'm beginning to feel very encouraged these days when big name designers embrace social media, especially in the name of Twitter. When I learned that Rachel Roy, has started Tweeting as well, I couldn't click the "Follow" button fast enough.
And now, she is giving her @Rachel_Roy Twitter followers the opportunity to get to know her behind-the-scenes.
On April 29th, Rachel will be guest Tweeting on @Coutorture LIVE (6 PM - 8 PM EST) from the Rachel Rachel Roy launch event. (Follow @Coutorture for more info!)
If that's not enough, the talented and inspiring designer will give her fans and followers the opportunity to ask her questions about her designs, including her new diffusion line, Rachel Rachel Roy: on April 30th at 3 PM EST, Rachel will be participating in her first ever LIVE Twitter press conference!
The Twitter press conference is available to all who tag questions with #RachelRoy!
As one who worked in the beauty industry for a few years, I was known for my creative and skillful makeup techniques. As I've been weening myself off of my 'MAC Employee' look for a while now, I feel as though I've lost my makeup application mojo.
Because, let me tell you, applying eye shadow ISN'T like riding a bike. You do need to practice.
So, to brush up on my makeup brush skills, I've turned to xsparkage, an adorable and informative little beauty diva who is making the Internet a bit cuter, one YouTube video at a time. How much do I adore this girl? I have learned so much about application and blending techniques just from her tutorials!
